Sunshine Room

Studfall Infant Academy has a fully inclusive Resourced Provision  for pupils who require enhanced arrangements to support their individual needs.  At Studfall, children who have an Education Health and Care plan (EHCP) have an individualised timetable which is carefully planned out.   Where possible, learning will take place in mainstream classes, as well as some learning taking place in small group provision.

Some of our children requiring small provision may access the Sunshine Room for part of their day.  The curriculum is adapted, following a rolling programme offering curriculum based activities as well as opportunities for nurture based learning and the development of social and emotional skills.

Learning in the Sunshine Room

Our children have access to an enhanced curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of the children.  In the mornings, children will complete maths, literacy and phonic based learning.  The afternoons are planned around different themes related to topic or science work.  The children also engage in nurture activities, sessions designed to promote social and emotional development and also work on a 1:1, paired work or in a small group to meet individual targets set on their Individual Education Plan (IEP).  We have recently redesigned our sensory room, and quiet zones so that the children can access a range of sensory experiences.

The children follow a curriculum designed to meet a wide range of learning needs.  Teaching and learning is based around our resourced provision progression of skills curriculum.  See the different subject curriculum below.
